Pressure prints for SALE

Yay! My pressure-prints of ‘On the Fourth day’ arrived today! The talented people of “Blush” made them for me. They are a modern letterpress printing studio in England and their knowledge was just what I needed.

The two-coloured image was pressed firmley into 425 gsm 100% cotton Saunders paper, which turned out perfect for these prints as it would allow a deep impression without the paper warping under the extreme pressures of the press.

Dimensions: 220 x 320mm, Black & red ink. The prints are for sale at €30 each. Each print is numbered and signed of an limited edition of 50.

Comic artists against cheap meat

“Stichting Wakker Dier”, an organisation trying to end mistreatment of animals, lounched their campaign against cheap meat this monday. Lots of comic artists and cartoonists made a contribution to boost the campaign. I made a 1 page story about the cruel life of the tiny, adorable meat piglets…. I’s so sad…

FICOMIC Barcelona

In France, there is the festival of Angoulême, in Spain, there is the FICOMIC. Every year Barcelona welcomes thousands of comics’ enthusiasts from all over the world.
This year, Holland had the pleasure to be guest, and the Fonds BKVB arranged a trip for about 40 Dutch Comic artist to be part of it. Here we could present ourselves and have a taste of a whole diffrent kind of festival compared to most of the Dutch festivals. There were comics for children of about 3 years and up, and a young and enthusiastic public of which a great amount was dressed up as their favourite character. There were games, books and lots of merchandise. There was good coffee and even a place to drop your babies/children so parents could focus on spending their money on our stuff.
Furthermore there were some brilliant exhibitions of the Duch at the festival as well as troughout the city, a Robot-combat between the Dutch “Lamelos” and the Spanish “la Cruda“. And a lot of things I do not dare sharing.
